How to Poop With Mosquitoes

Our 1st trip to the Boundary Waters was the end of July into the beginning of August. It was wet, muddy, and buggy. We had long pants, long sleeves and bug hats for our heads. But what do you do when you have to pull your pants down for the bathroom!

I could pee fast enough and get my pants pulled up before I got bit too much. Pooping was rough. You’re sitting there, a lot of times with a gorgeous view of the lake through the trees and you’re trying to do your thing but you have to keep swatting the bugs away from your thighs and legs. It was not pleasant pooping experience.

We were setting up camp one afternoon about half way through our trip and I noticed my rain poncho. I had an aha moment. It worked really well to protect your thighs (and butt cheeks) from those thirsty blood suckers.
